Marvel Heroes Team-Ups are Live

Marvel Heroes Team-Ups Marvel Heroes has just launched Team-Ups as a new facet of the game.  Team-Ups are like fighting pets in other online games.  They travel with you and the computer controls their attacks.  You can get equipment for them as well. You can buy these team-up characters through in game currency (eternity splinters) or dropping $10 or so.  It will take just about as many eternity splinters to buy a Team-Up character as it will to buy a new playable character.  They are starting off with a limited selection but have a ton of coming soon Team-Up characters in the pipeline, including Hydra Bob.  The starting line-up includes Spider-Man, Magik, Falcon and Firestar.

I’ve jumped back into Marvel’s  free MMORPG Marvel Heroes recently.  I played at launch and was thoroughly disappointed, but I saw some Twitch streams of the updated game and heard it improved so I gave it another shot.  Mind you, it’s no DCUO, which I really had a good time with, but it’s better than it was and I’m a Marvel fanboy so now I’m playing it again.

If you aren’t familiar with Marvel Heroes, it’s a free to play loot-fest game by David Brevik, the “visionary” behind Diablo.  You start with a single Marvel hero of choice which I believe are: Luke Cage, the Punisher, Captain America, Black Panther, Black Widow, Human Torch, Colossus, Storm & Hawkeye.  I say believe, because I joined at launch and had a much smaller roster of heroes to choose from, but because I started at launch and played for a while I got hero drops, so my roster has a total of 4 characters so far.

I don’t think hero drops exist anymore.  To get a new hero to play you either have to collect like 400 or 600 eternity shards which are somewhat rare (I read somewhere that if you play straight mob fighting you should see one drop every 6 minutes or so) or you ha

If you haven’t checked it out or haven’t checked it out since launch give it a shot.  The new content and game changes make it much more playable than it was.

Scarlet Witch Marvel Heroes

I’m currently running a Scarlet Witch character which you can see to the right and I’m saving up eternity splinters for Dr. Strange or one of the new Team-Ups, I can’t decide.ve to pay for them by buying another currency called “G”s.  I believe it around $10-$20 dollars for each hero depending how popular

they are.  Marvel seems to have a sale or promotion every weekend so you might be able to get them cheaper if you want to wait.
